.:Dressy Casual:.

Skirt:  Loft (old; really similar for under $16) // Sweater:  Joie (similar) // Heels:  Shoe Dazzle (really old; love these) //

I'm completely loving looks, such as this one above, that have a dressed-down fancy vibe.  The skirt and heels have a dressy vibe.  However, in adding the boyfriend sweater and minimal jewelry, it makes it more day to day appropriate and unexpected.

.: Birthday Dreams :.

My birthday is Friday… I may have a few items that I've been coveting as of late and hoping that one or two of them show up for my birthday this year!

Untitled #10

.:Pink:.

//Sweater:  Target // Scarf: Target (under $10!!!) // Handbag:  Tory Burch // Shoes:  Valentino (similar under $100 here) // Denim:  Paige // Sunnies //

Shades of pink are currently on my radar.  Im not sure if it's remnants of Valentine's Day that are inspiring me or the warmth of the nearly springish air that is here in California, but I cannot get enough of hues in the blush family.  I love simple pieces such as the above in similar hues for a nearly monochromatic look that has a bit of personality to it.

.:High-Low:.

//Blouse:  Target // Denim:  Paige (love these) // Necklace:  Etsy // Flats:  Valentino // Handbag:  Tory Burch // Sunnies //

One of my favorite ways to create an outfit is by mixing high end and low end pieces together to create a unique look.  I tend to save luxury for handbags and shoes.  However, I am a firm believer in not spending a ton on tops.  This top fit the bill perfectly for under $25.  I love how budget friendly pieces are elevated when paired with more luxurious items.  In spending less on some items (like tops), it also allows for pieces with longevity (such as this handbag and shoes) to be carried through from season to season and get a good cost per wear (see this post) because the more inexpensive pieces help to style them differently and uniquely as the seasons go on.

.:Date Night:.

//Top:  old; very similar // Skirt:  Express (sold out; similar & even cuter) // Handbag:  Tory Burch // Sunnies // Heels:  Christian Louboutin //

On actual Valentine's Day,  the husband and I opted for an early movie (50 Shades) and lunch at one of our favorite restaurants.  Then, we went home and changed and headed off to attended a family birthday party.  In an effort to not look like valentine's day threw up all over me, I opted for a more subdued version.  I love how the pop of pink from the handbag brings out the lipstick colors in the top! I also feel that because the "valentine" motif isn't too strong, this would be great for any date night (not just on Valentine's Day!)

.:weekend dreaming:.

//Sweater:  J.Crew (old; similar) // Leggings:  Express // Crossbody:  Windsor // Necklace:  Stella & Dot //  Flats:  Steve Madden //

The week is flying by!  I can't wait for the weekend so that I'll be able to cuddle up with my hubby and relax! This is the perfect kind of weekend look.  Leggings are always super comfortable and I am completely loving red and leopard combinations!  I love how the above outfit is dressed up with the addition of a strong statement necklace (like this amazing one above) and a cross body bag.

Happy Thursday, Everyone!

.:Red & Leopard:.

 //Sweater: J.Crew Factory // Skirt:  J.Crew (on sale!) // Pumps:  Nordstrom //

Red and leopard are one of my favorite combinations as of late.  I wear leopard constantly and am thereby constantly attempting to find new ways to wear it.  Well, the red and leopard mixture to me are the best thing since sliced bread.  I am dying to add a little more red into my wardrobe when the challenge is over.  I currently only own this skirt, two sweaters, and a pair of pants that are red.  I am falling head over heels for it quickly though.  I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to add a red cross body handbag into my wardrobe very very soon. Be sure to visit yesterday's post for the two red handbags that I'm dreaming of!

.:sweater dresses & fur:.

// Vest:  Banana Republic (old; similar) // Dress:  Loft (similar for under $20) // Boots:  Tory Burch (very affordable version here) // Handbag:  Tory Burch // Sunnies:  Chanel //

There's something so timeless and elegant about adding a piece of faux fur to a look in my eyes.  It instantly polishes the outfit and makes it much more fancy.  It's safe to say that I can't get enough of the timeless glamour that it creates.

The shop your closet challenge is still going.  We have about two more weeks to go!  I will be posting some items that are on my mental wish list currently in the coming days.
