It has rained here nearly all week.  This weekend, the wet weather took a break for a couple of days and allowed to me wear something other than my fabulous Hunter wellies.  I was overjoyed to pull out these boots.  When I initially purchased them, I was looking for a standard pair of cowboy boots.  Now,  if you know me at all, you know that standard is not what I gravitate toward.  I ended up ordering these babies.  I love the unique cutouts that give them the ability to hold their own.  It's a HUGE plus that they're out of the ordinary as well!  They are comfortable and while I've only worn them three times, they are showing wear in all of the right places and are getting better and better each time I put them on.

This poncho from Forever 21 is so adorable and can be styled so many ways.  I cannot get enough of these oversized sweaters!

I still love print mixing.  It gives an outfit so much interest.  My key to print mixing:  mix shades in loose (like polka dots, florals, etc) & structured (like herringbone, stripes, gingham, etc.) prints in like colors.  In sticking to a simple color palette (in this case black & gray) you create an aesthetically appealing effortless look.  

By the way, my favorite handbag linked above is on sale!  Catch her while you can!  She keeps selling out!  She is worth every single penny.  Promise.

I have to confess:  The day that I wore this skirt, I felt like I looked like a present.  The tartan skirt reminds me so much of the holidays.  However, that being said, I absolutely love it.  This skirt is older but the one that I linked above is amazingly cute as well (& on sale)!  In an effort to not compete with such a strong pattern, I paired the skirt with neutrals and added my favorite leopard print handbag for a bit of interest.  I love that this look is festive & yet it doesn't fall into the "ugly Christmas sweater" category.

The holiday season is here!  One of my favorite ways to dress for the holidays is with a little bit of sequins.  This outfit took me through Thanksgiving day with comfort and style.  I love outfits with a girly edge.  This sequined skirt is toned down and made casual with riding boots & a chambray shirt.  These elements make it daytime appropriate and fun.  I can also imagine it dressed down for daytime with flats and a striped shirt. However, this same skirt could be easily transitioned into night with a silk blouse and heels.  

Also, can we talk about these tights for a minute?!  They are such an essential.  They are fleece lined but still thinner than your average legging (and a million times warmer).  I kid you not, these tights are actually warmer than denim.  From the inside, they look like regular tights, but on the inside they feel like sweats! You NEED a pair!  I plan on ordering a couple more in order to be able to continue to wear my skirts and dresses and still be cozy!

Sometimes, you think you will never wear something again.   In high school, I had a poncho and thought I would never wear another one, much less fall in love with one.  Well, my love affair with a poncho has happened and I'm craving more of them.  There's something about adding a pattern (such as this fantastically sweet $10 turtleneck) with it that really brings it to life.  I am absolutely loving the fun effortless shape.  I'll be honest, I've owned it for a week and have worn it 3 days out of the past week….totally guilty….oooopps!  I love them so much that I actually ordered this one in green as well.

These booties are just amazing.  You all know how much I love and wear my leopard flats.  These booties are the winter version!  I am head over fancy heels in LOVE with them.  They are pretty comfortable too!  I cannot wait to wear them with leather leggings, a fancy striped skirt, and sweater dresses!  They will be on my feet constantly!  Girls, if you get one fancy shoe this season, these should be it!
