.:Hearts:.

//Top:  Loft// Denim:  Hudson// Shoes: J.Crew (similar)//

Sometimes, believe it or not, you don't need tons of accessories.  I felt as though this blouse spoke for itself.  It didn't need to compete with a strong necklace.  It was able to stand on its own.  I paired it with some sweet bow pumps to polish off the look.  Hope you're week is winding down beautifully!

.:Stripes:.

//Sweater:  Loft (similar)// Necklace: Nest (this season's version; TJMaxx has also been carrying a similar option)// Pants:  Gap// Shoes:  Steve Madden// Handbag:  Celine// Sunnies:  Chanel//

Every now and then I wake up feeling blah and have no desire to dress up.  These are the days where I reach for my uniform.  To me, my uniform is a striped top and leopard flats.  I know that I will have a bit of polish without much effort.  Do you have a go to outfit when you aren't feeling up for getting dressed?

.:unusual pairings:.

//Sweater:  Loft (on mega sale in store) // Skirt:  Francescas (I purchased mine in store this week; dress version here)// Shoes:  Christian Louboutin // Necklaces:  J.Crew (old) & J.Crew Factory// Nails:  Essie Bikini So Teeny//

I had lunch with my mom today and after telling her that I felt like my outfit didn't necessarily "match"
but I liked it that way, she reminded me that that is how I always was as a child.  She took me down memory lane discussing how I always had some crazily mismatched outfit on that I had concocted.  While it wasn't always what I'm sure that she preferred that I wore as a child, I am so thankful that she fostered the sense of wear what makes you happy.  To me, dressing is an art form…I'm terrible at drawing, painting, and the like.  However, mixing & matching pieces together to create something glorious is where my heart is…I literally spend hours in my closet piecing things together when I need some uplifting feelings to present themselves.

.:Chambray Stripes:.

//Shirt:  J.Crew Factory (super similar) // Necklaces:  J.Crew (identical here & here) // Skirt:  Loft (old; love this one) // Heels:  J.Crew (old; craving these desperately)//

I go through phases of extremes.  I either love super comfy, cozy boyfriend-esque looks or those that are filled with supreme amounts of femininity.  This week seems to hold a feminine feel.  I find myself drawn to skirts like crazy.  I would love to add quite a few more to my wardrobe as I always tend to feel better about myself when I'm dressed in one with heels on.  What outfit type makes you feel the best?

.:My Two Faves:.

//Sweater: Loft (on super sale- I got mine for $12) // Skirt:  J.Crew (old; nearly identical…maybe even cuter) // Wedges:  Jessica Simpson (old; LOVE these) // Necklaces:  ILY Couture & J.Crew (similar)//

To me, there's no easier combo than dots and stripes.  I love combining a loose print (like dots) with a more structured one (like stripes) in a similar color.  Dots and stripes are my comfort zone and I always seem to go back to them.

.:Candy Stripes:.

//Sweater:  Loft (old; similar) // Skirt:  Loft // Pearl Necklace:  Stella & Dot // Crystal Necklace:  Mindy Mae's Market c/ o // Pumps:  Sam Edelman (similar)//

If I could be an outfit this would be it.  The full skirt just epitomizes what I love most…girly chic.  The print mixing combination also keeps this outfit young and modern.

On a side note, these pictures were taken seconds before I saw a mouse and totally freaked out.  I am still adjusting to country life and I have to say that all the critters freak me out a little.  I've seen more crawly things in the past few weeks than I have in years.  Hopefully soon I will be able to see a creepy crawler without screeching.

.:Dots & Stripes:.

Sweater:  J.Crew (adorable as well) // Skirt:  Loft (similar; also similar) // Necklace:  J.Crew (factory version) // Pumps:  Nine West //

I love jeans…more than anyone should.  However, at times, jeans become so very boring.  I have decided to start, no matter what, switching up pants for a skirt or dress at least once a week (at least while the weather is gorgeous)!  Skirts create such a different vibe to your look and often elevate your style to a point that is oh so very fancy without really trying.

Tip:  While this outfit has different patterns in it, it works because the patterns don't compete with one another.  Print mixing is easy as long as one pattern is stronger than the other.  The small dots and large stripes also complement one another because they carry colors from the same color family (blue).

.:Blanket Scarf & Stripes:.

//Blanket Scarf:  Zara // Striped Sweater:  Loft // Denim:  Paige (similar) // Flats:  Steve Madden (though I actually wore these with the outfit for the day)//

Spring has almost fully sprung here.  However, I'm clinging to the last bits of Winter while I still can.  I'm one of those crazy people that would much rather be cold.  We moved about an hour away from our old home.  However, the temperatures could be up to about 30 degrees different between the two places.  Our old home always had fog that rolled in and cooled everything way down at night (which I weirdly loved) and our new home does not.  In the summer, the heat lingers here.  That said, I'm grasping every bit of cold air while it's still semi lingering.
