.:Chanel Fever:.

//Blazer:  J.Crew // Sweater:  Loft (similar & 40% off!) // Necklaces:  Shop Urbanite c/o; J.Crew (old) // Pants:  Gap // Flats:  Steve Madden // Handbag:  Louis Vuitton Delightful MM //  Brooch & Sunnies:  Chanel//

This week my summer vacation ended and I'm back at work in the classroom preparing for my students who will arrive on Monday.  I am so excited for the coming school year!

Today, because I knew that I was in district wide meetings today, I wanted to get back to looking presentable and out of distressed denim.  In order to add a more professional appeal to a basic white jeans and striped shirt ensemble, I chose to add a black blazer to dress it up a bit.  Adding statement jewelry also helped to jazz this outfit up.

On a side note, lately I've had full blown Chanel fever.  I have been loving my flats and brooch so very much and have been wearing them weekly for months upon months.  I coveted these sunnies for so long before I finally bit the bullet.  That being said, I'm totally coveting a Boy Bag.  Their gorgeous modern take on the classic flap completely has me smitten.  I've literally debated how much of my wardrobe I would have to sell in order to fund one…oh a girl can dream! :)  What is on your most coveted item?

.:Monogram Love:.

Hi Everyone!  I'm guest posting over on Mindy Mae's Market's Blog today!  Head over to see today's post featuring a fabulous monogram necklace!

.:Chambray Stripes:.

//Shirt:  J.Crew Factory (super similar) // Necklaces:  J.Crew (identical here & here) // Skirt:  Loft (old; love this one) // Heels:  J.Crew (old; craving these desperately)//

I go through phases of extremes.  I either love super comfy, cozy boyfriend-esque looks or those that are filled with supreme amounts of femininity.  This week seems to hold a feminine feel.  I find myself drawn to skirts like crazy.  I would love to add quite a few more to my wardrobe as I always tend to feel better about myself when I'm dressed in one with heels on.  What outfit type makes you feel the best?

.:My Two Faves:.

//Sweater: Loft (on super sale- I got mine for $12) // Skirt:  J.Crew (old; nearly identical…maybe even cuter) // Wedges:  Jessica Simpson (old; LOVE these) // Necklaces:  ILY Couture & J.Crew (similar)//

To me, there's no easier combo than dots and stripes.  I love combining a loose print (like dots) with a more structured one (like stripes) in a similar color.  Dots and stripes are my comfort zone and I always seem to go back to them.

.:Simple:.

//Dress:  J.Crew (on sale!) // Necklace:  Nest (sold out online but on sale in stores; this season's version) // Shoes:  J.Crew (old; love these) // Cardigan:  Loft (old; similar)//

Sometimes, a simple black dress is all you need to feel fabulous.  I am utterly in love with this wetsuit-like material one from J.Crew.

I am so elated that the weekend is almost here!  It's been a scorching 105* most of the week and I've so enjoyed wearing dresses/skirts this week!  I cannot wait to spend some time at home in the sun this weekend!  Hope your week was amazing!

.:Turquoise Jasper:.

//Sweater:  J.Crew Factory // Denim:  Hudson // Flats:  Tory Burch (similar) // Necklace:  Nest // Handbag:  Celine//

I am so sorry for the absence!  The past two weeks have been consumed by a seemingly infinite amount of wedding planning!  We are right at 2 months from the big day and I feel like I am always on the phone speaking to someone regarding something wedding related!  That said, my blog got neglected last week in an effort to get wedding things accomplished!  I'm hoping to keep up with consistent posts again.

In reference to the outfit, this necklace may be the most beautiful thing that I own.  I have a particularly weak spot for anything Tiffany Blue and turquoise most often fits into that category.  When I saw this, it was like butter sliding down hot toast…I was done for.  I stalked this on Neiman's website until it hit sale and then I couldn't take it a minute longer after a seemingly stressful day.  I have a feeling I will still have this pretty in rotation ten years from now. Has a piece ever made your heart sink like this one did for me?

.:Floral:.

//Necklaces:  Shop Urbanite ℅ // Sweater:  J.Crew Factory // Skirt:  J.Crew // Pumps:  Sam Edelman (similar)//

Wedding planning is in full swing in our house right now!  I managed to book a photo booth, finish ordering burlap and large mercury glass candle holders for our centerpieces, and successfully complete registering this weekend!  I actually think that this was the one rare instance where the future H liked "shopping" more than I did.  :) I had the future H hold the scanning gun while we walked around registering and I think that alone put a huge grin on his face.  Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend as well!

.:Candy Stripes:.

//Sweater:  Loft (old; similar) // Skirt:  Loft // Pearl Necklace:  Stella & Dot // Crystal Necklace:  Mindy Mae's Market c/ o // Pumps:  Sam Edelman (similar)//

If I could be an outfit this would be it.  The full skirt just epitomizes what I love most…girly chic.  The print mixing combination also keeps this outfit young and modern.

On a side note, these pictures were taken seconds before I saw a mouse and totally freaked out.  I am still adjusting to country life and I have to say that all the critters freak me out a little.  I've seen more crawly things in the past few weeks than I have in years.  Hopefully soon I will be able to see a creepy crawler without screeching.

.:Dots & Stripes:.

Sweater:  J.Crew (adorable as well) // Skirt:  Loft (similar; also similar) // Necklace:  J.Crew (factory version) // Pumps:  Nine West //

I love jeans…more than anyone should.  However, at times, jeans become so very boring.  I have decided to start, no matter what, switching up pants for a skirt or dress at least once a week (at least while the weather is gorgeous)!  Skirts create such a different vibe to your look and often elevate your style to a point that is oh so very fancy without really trying.

Tip:  While this outfit has different patterns in it, it works because the patterns don't compete with one another.  Print mixing is easy as long as one pattern is stronger than the other.  The small dots and large stripes also complement one another because they carry colors from the same color family (blue).

.:Bright Stripes:.

// Sweater:  J.Crew (this year's version) // Skirt:  J.Crew (identical Factory version) // Necklaces:  J.Crew (nearly identical) // Flats:  Steve Madden//

Spring has sprung here.  We are enjoying days filled with eighty degree sunshine at our house lately.  Skirt weather is in full effect.  In hopes of not looking like Casper the ghost, I have been testing out sunless tanners (in hopes of not exacerbating my skin cancer risk as I was a complete sun worshipper up until the age of 22).  Do you girls have any favorite sunless tanners and tips on how to apply it?  I'm in search of a fabulous tan out of a bottle that looks as great as my dark, natural Italian sun created one does.  Please help by leaving a comment down below about what sunless tanners you love!

.:Fancy Skirts:.

// Chambray: J.Crew Factory // Skirt:  c/ o Avery Lane // Flats: Valentino // Necklaces:  J.Crew (nearly identical)//

Boutique shopping is one of my favorites.  It gives you a way to find pieces that are unique.  I love having something that is a little different from what everyone else has or is wearing.  Avery Lane is a fantastic little boutique & online destination for great skirts and dresses.  I am impressed by the thick material of this skirt that reminds me so much of my much more costly Anthropologie versions.  I plan to head back to Avery Lane for a few more spring/summery pieces.
