I firmly believe that a good wardrobe is comprised of fabulous basics. Basics, in my opinion, are pieces that can be seamlessly mixed and matched to create new outfits with utter ease. In short, this means that they go with absolutely everything. Also, chances are that these are also the pieces that you will have five years from now as well! They are the pieces with the timeless elegance that many of us long to have in our outfits. Good basics are the pieces that I don't feel guilty splurging on because I know that they're cost per wear will be minimal (see the post on cost per wear here to see my explanation of why it's such an important thing to consider when shopping).
