Gift Guide: Beauty Maven

Hi Everyone!
Over the next few weeks, I plan on posting various gift guides to help you shop for all the lovely people in your life!  Today, we are focusing on the beauty maven.  This is the person in your life that is OBSESSED with makeup/skincare.  I find myself falling into this category often!  I mean, what girl doesn't love to experiment with makeup?!
As a self-professed beauty connoisseur, I absolutely adore trying new products! I would completely be over the moon to receive any of these beauty pieces as gifts this holiday season! These are all products I know and love or are dying to get my hands on!  Specifically, way up on my wish list are the Makeup Case, Chanel creme, GlamGlow Thirsty Mud, and the Tom Ford Cafe Rose (number one on my beauty wish list)!  However, I know that I personally, just like many of you, would just about do cartwheels if you unwrapped any of these fantastic pieces under the tree!

 Hello Lovelies!

It's December 1st and I'm so thrilled that it is finally chilly here in California!  Colder weather allows layering to commence.  I'm thrilled to be able to layer shirts, vests and pants of different textures to create a new look.  Wardrobe possibilities open up so much with layering!  One top can be styled so many different ways as long as layers are allowed to come into play.  My favorite aspect of this outfit is that it is made up of neutral pieces that can be combined and separated to form many different outfits.  This outfit works because while the colors are all neutral in tone, different patterns and textures allow for it to have personality.  The neutral colors allow them to be combined endlessly while the textures and patterns inject some interest.

Perfect Basics

I firmly believe that a good wardrobe is comprised of fabulous basics.  Basics, in my opinion, are pieces that can be seamlessly mixed and matched to create new outfits with utter ease.  In short, this means that they go with absolutely everything.  Also, chances are that these are also the pieces that you will have five years from now as well!  They are the pieces with the timeless elegance that many of us long to have in our outfits.  Good basics are the pieces that I don't feel guilty splurging on because I know that they're cost per wear will be minimal (see the post on cost per wear here to see my explanation of why it's such an important thing to consider when shopping).

pleats and sales

 Happy Tuesday!

I love anything that can be best described as classic with a twist. To be concise, I mean anything that has a classic feel to it with an element of modern surprise. This outfit does just that.  I am in love with the classic appeal of a white button up.  This one adds the perfect modern touch with the pleated detailing on the bottom of it.  I honestly wish that it came in more colors!  The best part is that it is currently on sale (actually just about everything in this post is on sale)!
