.:Layers:.

// Shirt:  J.Crew Factory // Vest:  J.Crew (old; love this) // Skirt:  J.Crew (identical) // Tights:  Steve Madden // Boots:  Tory Burch (This Season's Version on MEGA sale!) //

I cannot believe that Christmas is THIS week.  How is it possible that the holidays are already almost over?  I truly wish that the month of December was twice as long so that we had the ability to relish in the holidays for just a little longer.

Today's look is one that I wore last week to work.  The temperatures at work can fluctuate like crazy due to air conditioning and weather (I get to work when it's chilly, it warms up during the day, and by the time I leave 11 hours later, it's often freezing).  That being said, I have figured out that the best way to survive the constant change in temperatures is by layering.  Vests are an awesome way to layer that don't add a ton of bulk to your look but still provide a way to keep your torso warm.  I also added a wonderfully thick coat on top of this for those morning and night hours in an effort to keep warm. These fleece lined lights kept me toastier than some of my jeans do!  I love that if for some reason I happen to get too warm, the coat and vest can be easily removed and the boots can be changed into heels to help cool down the look a little. During these end of Fall/beginning of Winter months, layering is where my heart is.

.:Printed:.

//Shirt:  J.Crew Factory// Pants:  J.Crew (love these) // Flats:  Tory Burch// Necklace:  H&M (similar here)// Watch: Michele// Bracelets:  Tiffany & Co//

I'll be honest, I heavily contemplated selling these pants.  They are about a year old and I've only worn them one other time (they were horrible on a cost per wear basis).  However, I pulled them on the other day to decide if I truly wanted to let them go and I just couldn't.  I suddenly could think of three different ways to wear them (where I couldn't think of anything other than a pink sweater with them before for some reason) and decided to keep them.  That being said, I am so wanting to add a few more pairs of printed pants into my wardrobe.  They are so easy to add some style and boldness to any outfit!

.:Weekend Loves:.

//Jacket:  J.Crew (similar) // Shirt:  Express// Denim:  Paige (love these)// Flats:  Tory Burch//

Weekends are my favorites in all aspects.  A few days off from work recharge me and help me to keep smiling.  Weekends also allow me to wear all of my favorite pieces.  I have to admit, as much as I love dressing up, I absolutely live for destroyed denim and sparkly flats.  I kid you not, every single weekend, you will find me in this flat/denim combination.

This weekend, I spent my time perusing the Palo Alto Glass Pumpkin Patch and the beautiful Stanford Shopping Center.  In addition to purchasing three fantastically gorgeous glass handmade pumpkins, I exchanged something for these fabulously sparkly Tory Burch flats!  I am in love.  Sunday, I spent hanging out with the sweet hubby & reading up more of Gone Girl in hopes that I will finally be able to see it sometime this week!  I hope your weekend was full of fantastic fall goodness!

.:Fall Wants:.

While it is still in the 70s to 80s here, I have fully caught Fall fever and am dying to get some Fall pieces!  Here's what's on my wish list that is specific to the season:

A good buffalo check will carry you through Fall with big chunky scarfs, destroyed jeans, and fabulous boots in tow!

This blazer could be super cute with a Chanel brooch (or any sparkly necklace or brooch) and leather pants to add some toughness to this business-like piece.
Leopard is a neutral.  This scarf would go with everything from stripes to solids to instantly up the ante of any outfit without effort.

You all know how much I love my leopard flats!  I think I may just need a boot version for Fall/Winter!

These flats sparkle with gorgeousness!  They would be so cute paired with a pair of black leather pants and a loose white tee.

These booties are life.  I love the sweet bow on the back.  While they are an investment, they would be worthwhile as they would go with just about any Fall outfit.

This jacket is so amazing.  The leather sleeves up the cool factor of it a million percent.  I picture it styled with destroyed denim, a Chanel brooch, and black d'orsay pumps.

.:Hearts:.

//Top:  Loft// Denim:  Hudson// Shoes: J.Crew (similar)//

Sometimes, believe it or not, you don't need tons of accessories.  I felt as though this blouse spoke for itself.  It didn't need to compete with a strong necklace.  It was able to stand on its own.  I paired it with some sweet bow pumps to polish off the look.  Hope you're week is winding down beautifully!

.:Last Days of Summer:.

//Sweater:  J.Crew Factory// Skirt:  Banana Republic (identical)// Pumps:  Sam Edelman (similar)// Necklace:  J.Crew (identical)// Clutch:  The Providence Story//

I've been enjoying the last days of Summer weather here by wearing some of my favorites while the weather still permits.  Nothing beats a girly skirt and some leopard!

.:Holy Chic:.

//Tee:  Old Navy // Blazer:  J.Crew // Brooch:  Chanel // Jeans:  Paige (similar) // Flats:  Steve Madden // Necklace:  TJ Maxx // Handbag:  Celine //

I'll be honest.  Sometimes, I'm that crazy girl that tries things on in the dressing room, rips the tags off and walks to the register to pay for them with the clothes still on.  Sometimes, I just can't stand to wait to wear them.  This was the case on Friday when I tried this shirt on in the dressing room at Old Navy while waiting for my husband to get off work so we could go to dinner.  Somehow, the shirt seemed like I should have been wearing it with the outfit that I had on and I couldn't imagine taking it off.  That being said, I happily pranced myself to date night in it.  The following day, I felt like utter hell and proceeded to wear the exact same ensemble.  I did this for two reasons:  I felt like crap and didn't want to pick out a new outfit AND I firmly believe that when you are feeling horrid, you will feel better if you at least look like you tried a little…even if it's only your dog that sees you.

I have a feeling that this outfit is going to be on major repeat.

.:Never Forget:.

//Blazer:  Nordstrom (old; similar) // Tee:  Victoria's Secret // Neckalces:  top (Mindy Mae's Market ℅) & bottom (J.Crew; nearly identical) // Jeans:  Hudson // Flats:  Steve Madden//

I'll never forget September 11th, 2001.  I was getting ready for a day at high school when my parents were watching the morning news and my brother and stopped dead in our tracks while walking to our bedrooms to see the planes hit the World Trade Center.  The entire day at school we watched coverage of its unfolding.  I remember being completely baffled as to what was happening but completely in awe of all of those that both risked and lost their lives in an effort to save others that day.  We stood together united as a nation afterward.  I will never forget that day or the impression that it left on me.  Thank you to all of those that serve our country in an effort to make our lives a little more wonderful here in this gorgeous country!

...and just so we are clear folks…I'm never really serious for long.  At work, teaching my firsties, I'm probably the biggest goofball that you've ever met! Anyway, my husband captured me dancing around at the end of our little photo shoot.  By the way, this is after I decided to essentially play soccer with the pinecone that was in photos two and three...Welcome to life with me!
